(Why would Al choose "Airline Amy" as a single in the first place?, It's a great song, but it's no SLN or YDLMA)
I thought about saying that I Was Only Kidding was going to be the lead single, but somehow I think that was a late addition to the song, and I think Al has confirmed that (though I'm not sure, but I know the album had too many songs, and it was either that or Waffle King that would have been dropped).

I have a vague remembrance of reading something where he did say he turned down some roles (I think on TV) that didn't seem to go with the image he wants to maintain publicly. Yeah, he played a crack addict on NG, but as was mentioned, it was a cameo, and obviously a gag.weird user @ Apr 1 2007, 09:58 PM wrote: But that "information" does make me wonder if Al ever turned down any offers for roles in any movies. Al hasn't been in many movies, and most of his movie roles were cameos that lasted less than 15 seconds. Al has mentioned a few times when he was offered to write or perform songs for movies that he ended up not being involved with.

Me too Scottidog. I think I read it on the old Ask Al questions... something about a tv show that asked Al to do a small role about a slightly retarded short order cook (or something similar) who had a fetish for old ladies, and Al saying that he was pretty sure it was a *little* too far out of his league. Hmm. Now I gotta go read through Ask Al again.
Anyway.... this topic is officially outdated.

I think I said on the first page that I previously only knew him by his first name until April Fools Day.
I wonder if Al's comments on being offered that L.A. Law part is true or if he was joking. It sort of sounds like a joke to me. Are there any L.A. Law fans here who have seen an episode that fit that description?
I knew that Waffle King was taken off Off the Deep End. I was saying that i thought I'd read somewhere that when the album had too many tracks that Al had to choose between saving either Waffle King or I Was Only Kidding for his next album.
By the way, while not acting, I've seen Ask Al threads where Al mentioned being offered an opportunity to perform the openign songs from a Revenge of the Nerds movie but turned it down because he didn't write the song and the movies producers wouldn't let him write the song, and some other movie where he was initially offered to perform a song, but got turned down because he wanted to get paid for it.
