Of course, Al was only on a split second in this one. But there's another good reason for watching this episode [hopefully you taped it] --

Since "Futurama" is obviously another Matt Groening project like "The Simpsons", Al's caracature here MAY reflect how he MAY look on the upcoming Simpsons episode "Three Gays Of The Condo", airing hopefully sometime in April.

Then again, Al may not be playing himself ... but rather another character in the episode [ala Kelsey Grammar as Sideshow Bob]. It may be more like the Petroleum Joe character from "The Brak Show" -- just some very WEIRD guy .......

Whatcha think?
Dr. Dad

I dont think he will have the mustache though and he'll probably have yellow skin. BTW, Al playing a "WERID" guy? Naaah, thats too much of a stretch. ;);););)

For whatever reason they don't list Al's other video compilations, and I'm not sure if that's an oversight or intentional. I don't know enough about their guidelines to know how they decide to list music video compilations or not.
I'm pretty sure it's just because nobody has submitted it yet. Ever since Amazon bought the site, their rules on counting home video compilations seem to have changed.

For example, if you look under someone such as Trey Parker's listing, you'll see "South Park" and a couple of the different video releases of the show listed as separate entries.

If something is submitted, the worst that can happen is that they won't use it.

But I think as long as you have the basic information when you submit something (title, release date, program length, etc.) it should be fine.
It took them a few months and many corrections on my part to finally get Bermuda's information seperated from that other Jon Schwartz producer's entry. They still have producer Jon's entry with drummer Jon's official website listed. :eh:

Yeah, however they divide up the different sections, some updates get posted a lot quicker than others if at all.

Al's entry seems to be pretty solid by now as well. I don't necessarily like or agree with the way IMDB lists certain things, but as long as the information they list is somewhere and accurate, I usually let it slide.

Oh, so "edible underwear" is part of Al's oeuvre after all. I did wonder about that, but if you say so...

Somebody did get Nina added to the bio with commendable promptitude, though.

Sure. Haven't you ever read "The Authorized Al" ?

Thanks.
You're welcome. Nice work.

Yup, and I e-mailed IMDb a while back about their Al bio because I noticed a definite flavor of "Authorized Al" about it. If I remember correctly, the "born in the elevator" bit, the "picked architecture because it was first in the catalog" and "edible underwear" bits were all originally presented there as facts, not jokes. They seem to have done some tweaking since then. Well, two out of three's not bad. And if Al has never actually put edible underwear on sale, at least he's given away quite a bit of the non-edible kind over the course of his performing career. That ought to count for something. :P

Futurama DVD

Post by Elvis »

Season 2 of "Futurama" is now available on DVD. The season 2 DVD contains the "The Cryonic Woman" episode in which Fry gets to pick one person from the past to unfreeze.

One of Fry's choices -- a spectacled and mustached Al Yankovic in a red vest and white "Eat It" shirt.

Nope, he didn't pick Al. Looked at old skool Al and went, "Noooo." It's been shown from the inbetween clips at the shows.
