My friend was a big fan of Vib Ribbon, but I never got the chance to play it myself.
Speaking of using Al's music in video games, you'll be able to use songs from MP3 players that takes full advantage of the game's music-based functions in the new fighting game Def Jam: Icon for the Xbox 360. The game will also feature a very good create-a-fighter mode (similar to the one used in Fight Night Round 3), so it'll be pretty easy to make a really great Al. I'll make one up when the game is released and hopefully it'll turn out well. I can just imagine how fun it'll be to play with White & Nerdy in the background.

Also speaking of Al's music in video games... (don't roll your eyes at me Ryan!)
I think it is so cool that on the Wii, you can listen to MP3s that are on your SD card that is inserted into the Wii..
That means I can have the entire Weird Al library playing while I'm "driving a truck, driving a big ol' truck!"

Same thing can be done on the Xbox 360 and PS3. MP3s can be played through USB storage devices (including MP3 players such as iPods). I believe Icon is the first game, though, that incorporates the music into the gameplay through MP3 players.

I can't speak to what the others can do, but Xbox 360 can also play music that's on your home network, which I take advantage of quite a bit when I want to access my Al library or anything else while I'm on my Xbox.
The computer with the music either just needs to be running Windows Media Connect, unless it's using the Windows Media Center OS.

Yeah, yeah, I know that it is pretty widespread... I just couldn't help it. I think it is a really cool thing.
But really, only certain games really lend themselves to have custom soundtracks. I think it would be a bad idea to let ANY game have that feature. It really needs to be only certain games.

Maybe there should be a Weird Al Yankovic video game. It could be a parody of various video games, with different styles for each level. It could begin with a parody of the first level in the original Donkey Kong, then leading to a level or two (or three) that spoofs the Super Mario Bros. games (I'm taalking 'bout Mario 1, 2, 3, and World). Maybe spoof the best-known things from each game. I would like for there to be some sort of parody of the lines "I'm sorry, but your princess is in another castle" or "Here is a message from the princess". Perhaps thewre could be a hidden "Minus World", like in Super Mario Bros.
Then, Al could get Sonic-like powers and spoof a typical level in a Sonic the Hedgehog game (many of the first worlds in most games seem to be basically the same). This could lead to Al being in a Pac-Man-like maze, leading to a parody of Pokemon (maybe Al could the be on a mission to collect something), and eventually, Al culd be in some levels reminscent of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Simpsons arcade games, and finally, he could be in a level with graphics that are more like those on contemporary games.
