The only CA amusement park that I know he's played (besides Knott's in the early days) is Great America in the Bay Area, and that's pretty huge. I've only been to two county-fair concerts in CA-- OC which is really big (the biggest except for Pomona I think, and Al's got too much good sense to play Pomona in what's usually the hottest month of the year) and Madera which was really small, with temporary staging & seating and less-than-stellar sound quality. Somewhere in California there probably is a fair that's not too big and not too small, juuust right, but I bet you'd have to drive a fair bit to get there.

Alright, good points Kevbo and Steggy. I do have a stereotypical image of county fairs being small venues frequented by artists well past their prime who put on a shorter than usual concerts.

OE - yes, I was at the Great America show for the Poodle Hat tour and was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked for Al. Great show all around, and one of my fondest concert memories. I do hope he skips Konocti this time and books something in the Bay Area instead.

I hope he skips Konocti too... he's already had two Really Bad Things happen there, and we don't want it to be THREE Really Bad Things. :o

I'm hoping for the Bob Hope theatre (formerly the Fox) in Stockton. He came there before they did their big remodel and now it's finally finished. Nice smallish theatre, good seats aplenty. And only 30 minutes from my house!

He should play the Fillmore again. That rocked so hard.

Yes, it is believed that if Al does decide to tour Europe, he will do so in April. He had stated before that he wasn't going to start touring the U.S. until May, which explains the dates we have so far. Keep your fingers crossed for a European tour!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I feel like Al would be hesitant to announce that he was even looking into a UK tour if he wasn't almost certain he was going to do one. Al doesn't seem to disappoint his fans very often.

With the death of Anna Nicole Smith, does anyone else think Al will probably change the line about her in the performance of "Couch Potato" (assuming it's still in the setlist), especially the "She's scaring me" bit?
