Thanks for clearing that up for me :Y

I feel guilty for the tension I created. I know my statements were downright ttrollish behavior (Sounds like a few members who joined in the last few months just to be pessimistic  )

That's obviously not what I was trying to accomplish, to rile anyone up. I just don't like how Al fans react when they find slights against Al when there isn't one to find (Like if Al doesn't get nominated in the big categories) and I was trying to get that across, that if Al doesn't get nominated, it's not his fault, so be bummed, yes, just don't think it's a slam against Al.

It's wrong. It is throwing a bone to people that the Grammys don't want to throw bones to normally. It's one of the many things I find wrong with the music industry (Though that's another discussion entirely). That artists of any genre considered "different" (And that stretches far beyond oddball specific categories like comedy or polka or whatever...like metal, rap, etc) don't get a fair chance because of what they are.

So....peace? :)
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

If I remember the date correctly, the cut-off date for Grammy consideration for this year was September 30, which meant that the last traditional Tuesday release date for an album to quality would have been September 26 (and of course, as unlikely as it seems, an album could still have been released in the days between the 26 and the 30). Any new release after September 30 will count as part of the 2007 release season.

So no, unless the Tenacious D album (soundtrack?) came out over a month ago, it wouldn't be in the running for this year...and that's good I guess, because it would be nice to see them win one as well.

The D's The Pick Of Destiny is a soundtrack. But do soundtracks have a different category than albums?
taste is only something if it is yours.

I don't know offhand if soundtrack albums have a separate category, but individual songs from a movie soundtrack do have their own award.

Zach Braff reportedly won a Grammy for his "Garden State" soundtrack (since he picked all the songs himself).

Is Weird Al going to perform White & Nerdy at the Grammys? Will he be asked to?

He's not listed on the list of scheduled performers, so I'd have to say no.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.
