The Songwriters Hall Of Fame

Next to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Songwriters Hall of Fame is the other Hall of Fame that Weird Al Yankovic belongs in. Artists become eligible for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 25 years after their first release. For the Songwriters Hall of Fame, artist become eligible for induction 20 years after their first release. Weird Al Yankovic is eligible for both now.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies are held in March at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City.

The Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies are held in June at the Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City.

I would love to see Al get inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and The Songwriters Hall of Fame in the same year!

I did a little research and I found out that there have only been 4 musicians who have been inducted in the same year into both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame:

1986 - Chuck Berry
1997 - Joni Mitchell
1999 - Bruce Springsteen
2000 - James Taylor

Let's make Weird Al Yankovic one of those people!

Unlike the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame inductees are voted on by the public, but you have to become a member. JOIN NOW! Lifetime membership is $1000.00.

Is there some sort of junior membership that doesn't require a government loan to acquire?
