Oh, and depending on how floppy your poodle is  you might need to add a tad more stuffing or something like a popsicle stick inside to make sure is stays perky.

I sewed all of ours onto each hat by hand.. I made the smaller ones into a sitting position for stability, then sewed on their little front paws, and backsides. They're pretty sturdy.. though actually for my BIG white poodle I emptied out all the body and paws stuffing to lighten it up, but you can't tell. It lays on it's belly on my big straw sunhat. I also added other embellishments... perhaps I'll take pics of them individually and stick those on my Al pics page for all to see...

Stitching???? Stuffing???? Sounds like too much work!

I took a poodle and safety pinned it to a hat, and my cousin took her poodle and duct taped it to her hat, clear tape of course.

Pure and simple!

Then again, come to think of it, using a beanie baby poodle or a toy poodle does take the fun out of wearing a poodle at all.

Its much more skillful to use real poodles.

But let me say this:

No poodles were hurt in the making of these hats.

That only works if the real poodle in question (who may, of course, also be a toy poodle if small enough) is as well-behaved in public as Bela. She has excellent doggie manners, as I had the pleasure of observing for myself. She's a credit to her trainer, who has excellent human manners (a real asset, considering the Weird universe she married into)

Ah, even though it was forgotten before the shows at Chicago, A.J. made some of us balloon poodle hats!

Said poodle must also have good balance. Flying poodles are perfect for hat duty.
