I saw that and giggled when they said:spacedingo @ Aug 23 2006, 10:08 PM wrote: Heh heh.....the wiki page for You're Pitiful is using Aron's cover too![]()
Probable single "album cover" for "You're Pitiful". As "You're Pitiful" was only released online against the behest of Weird Al's record label, this image is only assumed due to its source.
Source: Screenshot of Weird Al's MySpace Page...
I can't complain because it made me laugh. I kinda like to see people speculate about stuff. We had a massive drawing board in the microwave room at the dorm, and we'd draw stuff anonymously just to see anonymous reactions.
Not only that, they think it's official! Nice job, Aron! (I hope you don't mind, but I put credit where credit was due. )
I saw that later--
Well, Al is using it on his MySpace page, so, as far as that goes, it is official.
I dunno if it counts.
I got an e-mail today from an editor at Wikipedia and he said he had eventually tracked me down, asked for the better resolution version (as posted when the song came out) and mentioned he included the usage rights to the parody cover as listed on my "terms of Use" page at my art page---
I DIED laughing when I saw he actually quoted this:
"Please respect my work though, and drop me a line if you plan on doing anything with the art (i.e submit it for showing somewhere). I ask that you please give credit/reference to me and ufotofu.net. You can say "based off of blah blah blah" or "Inspired by, blah blah yadda yadda yah". Whatever floats your boat."
That's really just there to prevent people from copying the stuff I do exactly, and submitting it elsewhere. Thats all. I never thought people would quote the "blah blah blah" or "yadda yadda yah" lol
As for it being official, I replied saying that permission for the image will always fall under what Al wishes, no money shall be made from this... etc., and that as far as I knew--- it is unofficial artwork.
