hehe they got a lyric wrong

''They'll treat you like the evil hardened criminal scum that you are.''

accordion to the lyrics in the spoiler forum, and the lyrics I posted in the Premiere topic, it's "hard bitten"....I listened again, and I definitely don't/can't hear "hardened"
The tsunami of immediacy will wash away the flood of grief, and reveal a layer of naive optimism underneath

Just posted a comment, with the proper lyrics for that line.

:D

Nice find, U62!

I've never even heard of slashdot until now, but nice to see such a positive mention of the song, and Al himself.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Another great article!

Looks like people aren't really bothered by the supposed "tired" subject matter. *not my words, btw* I think Al's slant on this subject keeps it more current, and this song will do well.

Nice find, but they called it a parody.

I can see why people would think it is. It's unbelievably close.

True, but I still can tell it's not a direct parody, and like I said before, it sounds like Hands Across America during the chorus. That's what signals style parody for me.
