Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Seriously, the best way for Al TV to ever make an appearence on DVD is for the Weird Al Show DVDs to sell like gangbusters. Fans have been requesting these for years, and they finally gave us what we wanted! And if this obscure Al vehicle sells well, there will be a much better chance of seeing other Al products on DVD.

So do your part and buy a copy... or three! Hehe.. :P

I think AL said something about this once in his Ask AL archive. something to the effect of I would need to get permission from the original music videos and the places where I got the interviews to do this. Not that I"m planning on this happening any time soon, but I'm thinking it would be better if it would be realeased after Weird AL retires from doing what he loves. Think about it Al has made 9 al tvs so far, if he continues to make more AL TV's after They've realeased the other's on DVD then they would just have to wait longer to release all of them at once. So I'de say if it's going to happen Release all of them after he is all done what he loves doing best. No offense to AL retiring anytime soon like I said above. I wish he could make new albums and videos and TV shows forever.

Well, I'm still going to try. Let's all be optimistic! Themagic, I have a friend who might be able to help me out but I'll see how it turns out in a couple of days. I think this has a lot of potential!

Well without the commercials and videos, how long would the specials be each? and hour hour and a half? You could put out a single disc and do 4 episodes and sell it for 20 bucks, and Im sure it could sell. That way you could do volumes, and it would be a lot easier to get them all out, so you could do 1-4, 5-8, and then release the others later. Although the last volume would be shorter since VH1 only gave Al an hour, although he was grateful for it. So if we get another short one, the next volume could be even more value priced, maybe 14.99 or something.

The listing of A's TV appearances at the official website mentions how long each ALTV special was. The earlier ones lasted four hours each, some lasted two hours, I think some were two and a half hours, and the last one was an hour.

I would be satysfied with a compilation. Maybe the rights holder could try to get permission for the best interviews (like the ones with Emeniem and Cher), and also include some Harvey clips, AL News, some of Al's music videos (just to have some music videos on there), the educational films, Ask Al, and maybe some reedited music videos. Maybe one of the polka medleys and the made-for-ALTV music video for Taco Grande (the music video for the song it parodied with redubbed music). Bob should also be included, as should the Al Unplugged segments (since those were his own songs, performed on the show). I don't think any of Al's self-promotional scenes (like the scene from ALTV 2K where he comments on a music video that "definitely won't be on my new album, Running with Scissors, or my video, Weird Al Yankovic Live!, in stores now!") should be included.

I wonder if Al's Guide to the Grammy's would have the same legal problems.

However, if it's too much work to have released anytime soon, then I think that we should concentrate on trying to figure out how to get The Complete Al released on DVD.

I know how long the entire thing was, but I meant was what if you took out the videos and commercials and just had the news, films and other non video things. I doubt they would shell out the money for other artists videos, and why would we need Al's videos if we already have them? Maybe they would pay for the re-dubbed videos and interviews, but I think that would be pushing it. Thats why I think that they would be very short compared to the original broadcast.

YeS! TCA is like my all-time favorite.

I for one would love to see TCA extended from where it left off, and continue to present day. (The Compleater Al?)
