I just heard Do I Make You Proud (really, the only realistic song Al would spoof), and I was really impressed by it. It has great parody potential. I have no idea what it could be about, but it seems like just the kind of song Al would pick. I'm not so disappointed anymore.

I agree with Ryan... DIMYP would make a great parody (plus, it's not as bad as people are making it out to be).

Now that we've heard DDTS, I've noticed that we're going to have two very similar songs. The tunes are very different, and obviously Taylor has a unique singing voice that Al can have fun with, but the structure of DDTS is extremely similar to "Do I Make You Proud." They both start out very soft and gentle, then build to a rousing chorus that gets stronger and stronger with each pass. The end of both songs feature a repeating and very energentic rendition of the chorus, complete with a backing choir.

Now, I realize that this parody was recorded and the the original was written AFTER DDTS was ever recorded, but it's gonna be weird having two such similar sounding songs on the album.

I'm not complaining. In fact, the more I listen to "Do I Make You Proud," the more I'm looking forward to the parody, and after hearing DDTS, I'm looking forward to it even more. This style of music is great for Al! But I hope Al puts plenty of other tracks between these two, so that the similarity in the styles is not as noticeable. And of course the subject will certainly be completely different, so that'll help too.

I'm sure the two songs' subjects will be so drastically different that they will not resemble one another.
