Well, Possibilities is also probably a full song and the commercial's only using a clip of it, so it's *ahem* possibleProsthetic_Lips @ Aug 9 2006, 09:57 PM wrote: Hey, what about Al parodying Taylor Hicks doing the Ford commercial ("possibilities")? It could be short like LMBYH and HTWH, and it could be a small gag.
On second thought, probably not so good an idea.

Really? It's a full song. I always thought it was just a cheesy Ford jingle. At any rate, that doesn't seem very likely because DIMYP is far more popular than the Ford thing. I doubt very many people even know "Possibilities" is a full song. DIMYP has been a huge hit, so it would be the better parody target.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

There was some talk a long time ago about Kelly Clarkson supposedly refusing to allow certain media outlets to use her original work. I wonder if Al originally planned on parodying one of her many hits from the past year, but having been denied permission, decided to parody Hicks instead. If so, the parody could possibly make fun of overblown celebrity egos, with a subtle jab at Clarkson. I could see how that subject matter could easily fit into the lyrics of "Do I Make You Proud."

I am not a fan of "American Idol" and I don't think I've ever heard any Taylor Hicks music, but I think it's a good choice for Al to parody someone from AI. It's impossible to ignore the impact that show has had on society and pop culture. And I guess Taylor makes the most sense since he's the latest winner, has a loyal fan base, and at moment, at the height of popularity. I was hoping if Al was going to tackle the AI phenomenon, he would have parodied Kelly Clarkson's "Since You've Been Gone" (no need to point out the obvious Al connection, I know it.) I actually like that song and she's the most sucessful winner so far.

Yeah, but Al's done parodies of artists' covers before. "I Think I'm a Clone Now" was the parody of Tiffany's(at least I think it was Tiffany's) cover of "I Think We're Alone Now". So it's possible he could do a parody of the song while poking fun at Taylor's style.
