From Thursday's "Providence Journal"....

"Life is beautiful"

Take a wild guess whom this article is about!

The song is mentioned about midway through. This is I believe the first time James has been asked about the parody in the press. Below is the relevant excerpt.

Weird Al Yankovic recorded a version called “I’m Pitiful,” which, as with all his parodies, was done with the permission of its creator. Blunt says that the attentions of Yankovic were “a huge compliment in itself.”

(Blunt’s record company didn’t think so. Atlantic Records reportedly forbade Yankovic from putting the song on his latest album, and Yankovic instead posted the song as a download on his Web site.)

"A huge compliment in itself"...I'd never heard Blunt's actual comments regarding the song, but that's certainly a nice chunk of publicity! :)

Well, I'm certainly glad that James still feels honored that Al did a parody, even if the humorless execs at Atlantic didn't feel the same.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

I read through this topic quickly, but does anyone have a link to an article or quote directly from James Blunt in which he states what he thinks of the parody?

EDIT: Never mind, just found it right above this very post! X*
