good point- youre probably right. but maybe you should tell that to E! lol. im simply just repeating what they said.

Here's the rider from Poodle Hat tour.

The food and beverage starts on this page,

(if you ever wanted to know what Al likes to eat, here you go. )

Al and the band's rooms are both alchohol-free. The wine and beer goes to the Tour Manager.

Guess the E! people didn't read that part of the rider properly.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

Unless Skip Lisk is a VERY thirsty guy I don't think he's drinking 48 bottles of beer and four bottles of wine at every venue of the tour (which, although it would be a ridiculously large amount of beverageness for one guy, is actually pretty moderate if you divide it among all the people traveling with the tour, and there's no reason to suppose that it all gets consumed at each stop). Delivering it to Skip is probably just an inventory-control thing, to prevent pilfering, and maybe also to protect the beverage-preference privacy of the band.

Yeah, I didn't think Skip would be drinking all of that, either. You're probably right. However, it also does not say it is specifically for Al. I think that's all we were getting at.

And even then, one has to figure that if dinner and after-show food needs to be provided for twenty-four people (not sure if that's just the crew or the crew and the band), then that same number can easily go through that amount of drinks while packing/cleaning up the show and afterward, so it's really not all that incredulous of a request.

Not to mention local promoters, media personalities, etc., and their guests, local guests of the gang, etc. One does need to be a gracious host. As for "never", "rarely", etc., there are many people who will hold a glass of wine etc. and nurse it for an entire evening, maybe taking a sip or two out of it at most all night if they remember to do even that. Not exactly a teetotaler, but the total intake's not more than someone taking communion either.

Okay, my inner Typo-Cop is clamoring to be let out: Greg, you want "incredible," not "incredulous." "Incredible" means "incapable of being believed" and refers to the idea in question. "Incredulous" means "incapable of believing" and refers to the person who can't wrap his or her mind around the idea in question. Move along, now. I'll let you off with a warning instead of a fine this time. :cop:

I think we've all agreed that there are plenty of potential throats available on a Weird Al tour among which to distribute all that liquid refreshment. As for whether any of it passes Al's lips, I'm inclined to think it unlikely-ish, but I don't really care, since personally I don't see any moral difference at all between an adult who's a total abstainer and an adult who doesn't abstain but does know when to stop. Cheers!

We had this discussion back when the Poodle Hat tour rider was newly available. Our best guess is that it's because Dasani is a CocaCola product and unlike, say Arrowhead or Perrier, which come from specific sources (i. e., mountain springs) Dasani is just filtered and purified from the local tapwater. There have been reports of contamination problems with it in some places. But maybe they just don't like the taste.
