I Love The 70s Part 2

Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

 Yeah, that was funny!

I still liked the Tull segment. At least, Al's part.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I actually thought the flute comment was a bit uninspired (it seemed a little too much like the other "generic" comments the other people were offering, like the non-specific slams on "dirty hippies" in the "1970" episode), but yeah, Al crooning "Aqualung" a moment later makes up for it.

Yes, the singing part was the best. I didn't mind his comment as much as the others, though, although I didn't start playing the flute to start a rock band. :P

While you're keeping your eyes open for Al appearances, Evan Wecksell, who you might remember played at the big Weird Al Star Fund benefit show, will also be on for a few segments.

1973 during "Password"
1978 during "Ice Castles"

He might be on other times too, those are just the ones he knows for sure. I hope someone remembered to tape this for me....

I have TiVo set to record each episode... I have 1970 and 1971 in the Now Playing... I just haven't sat down to watch them yet.

huh, surprised there's not more chatter in here about Al's appearances on the show (as few as they may be). yeah I know, the episodes are pretty painful to watch (like SNL), but there have a been a few good moments (unlike SNL)...

One that springs to mind is Al's comment about Susan Sarandon's boobs in Rocky Horror: "That's there to throw a bone to the straight guys in the audience... both of them."

And something about the Pink Panther. can't remember the exact quote at the moment.
"Of COURSE I think, Steve! I think all the time! Sheesh!"

It was something to the effect that a "Pink Panther" is either a rare diamond or a gay militant African-American.

Sooo, is anyone else bummed out that Al didn't show up once during the segment on "Disco Duck?" It was only one of best-selling comedy singles of all time, so why on earth would Weird Al need to comment on this? <_<

Man, I really hate these shows! Michael Ian Black needs to become the tragic victim of a bulldozer attack.
