Still, while I'm all for letting Atlantic know they're a bunch of jerks (politely, of course), I'm not exactly sure what this will accomplish. Even if they change their minds, there's little-to-no chance YP will end up going on the album now, is there? I mean, it's been given away for free on weirdal.com and anyone who would have wanted it has it on their iPod by now. Why would Al restore it to lead parody again even if he could? It wouldn't be a selling point for the album anymore...

I highly doubt that Al would put this song on the album now, and I'm pretty sure there's not much of a chance that Atlantic would let him anyway. I'm sure Al made sure that they were absolutely positive that they weren't going to let him release the song before he decided not to. The letters we send will at least let Atlantic know that there are some very disgruntled customers out there that aren't happy with their decision. It could at least make them realize that they made a big mistake.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Definitely not as a lead parody. Included anyway? Depends entirely on the new ALbum timing. And right now controversy-Al is getting great publicity. It's definitely whetted people's appetites for a new ALbum without the song right now! :) Would "fans fight back and win" or something like that be as effective? Maybe as a second go around ;) (j/k)

What difference would it make at this point if Atlantic relented? I'm not sure, it's just that Al should be able to use or not use the song at his discretion. Now or in the future.

Edit: Since no one will argue different points, guess I will - hehe! YP would still sell the new ALbum, especially to all the people like me who like their cd's and don't have ipods and things like that. So far I've only heard the song on my computer. And I'd soften the "definitely not as a lead parody" to just maybe not advertised as a lead parody, because if it was on there, it would be one automatically.

I agree with ya there, I just couldn't sit by and not do anything. You know ... "All it takes for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." - Edmund Burke

And I'm sure we won't find a new assault of comments (From James Blunt? Coolio? The possibilities are endless! ...when you can leave several messages under different names just to egg people on).
