A product description has now been added to Amazon's product page, one that not only goes over in detail the guests who have appeared on the show but also at the very end a list of special features on the set!

Al’s Weird Special Features:
• 13 Commentaries with Weird Al, Cast & Crew
• The Evolution of "Fatman" - Original Concept Art Gallery
• Concept Art Galleries
• Animated "Fatman" Storyboards with Commentary by Keith Alcorn ("Fatman" Animator and Director), Animator Paul Claerhout and Production Artist Tim Hatcher
• "Weird Al Show Theme" Karaoke

As far as I can tell the info was added by Amazon itself (as opposed to a customer), which most likely means Shout sent it out to them, yet at this time neither Shout, TVShowsonDVD, or any other retailer has a description posted. Still, I can't imagine why a store would guess at the extras on a DVD, so this is probably the real thing.

Sounds very cool! Thanks for posting that, Greg.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Those features sound very cool! I really like the idea of "The Evolution of 'Fatman'". That sounds like it will be very cool to see. Plus, we get commentaries on all 13 episodes. :whoot: Judging by the "UHF" commentary, these should be very entertaining.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Not necessarily. The might do it like with The Office, which included two commentary tracks for one episode and none on two others.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out!

Nah, Anth. It'll be all 13 episodes. Who wants to hear anyone else but Al talk about the shows anyway?

Actually, besides the commentaries, WHICH WILL BE AWESOME, the special features are kind of dry. Yes, it'll be cool to have a karaoke version of TWAS theme, but the rest is just galleries and storyboards. :z In my DVD collection, production galleries are always the most often skipped and unwatched portions of the discs.

I was hoping for some behind the scenes footage, more than just still photos.

Oh, well! The commentaries will be super!

I agree. Picture galleries are one of my most unliked features on any DVD. Sure, they're good for a quick glance when you get the DVD, but once you've seen them, you've seen them.

I personally wanted one of those really pointless, but kinda amusing (for some unknown reason) games that are on some DVDs, in the extras.
Sever your leg, please. It's the greatest day.

From today's Billboard Bits column
Billboard Magazine wrote: Although it ran for just 13 episodes between 1997-8, "The Weird Al Show" developed a healthy cult following among fans of enduring song parodist "Weird" Al Yankovic. The series will finally be released on DVD Aug. 15 via Shout! Factory, complete with commentary from Al himself for each episode and guest commentaries from cast members such as Emo Phillips and Judy Tenuta.

The DVDs will be rounded out by original art galleries, animation storyboards and a karaoke version of the show's theme song. Yankovic is currently off the road but has completed the follow-up to his last studio album, 2003's "Poodle Hat." The set is expected for a summer release via Volcano. -- Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

I don't recall seeing the karaoke mention before.

Thanks for posting that, El!

Scroll up a bit. Greg posted a synopsis of what will be on the dvd. The last thing listed is the karaoke. Or did you mean in the Billboard article?

I'll take the "completed the follow-up to Poodle Hat" part with a grain of salt until Bermuda announces it.

re: karaoke Ah yes, I guess I missed it the first time.
