If you read through the whole topic, this guy definitely is for real, and did briefly manage Al. His name is on the back of the Placebo EP. As far as what he said about Jay, maybe at first, Jay did say no *maybe someone can verify this?* but aren't we all glad he had a change of heart, and wound up being Al's manager for over 20 years? And he's still going!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

I think the entire spirit of this "interview" (note the lack of any printed questions or answers) is not just clueless, but unfair.

Afterall, even if he was not all that into the show that night, it's understandable; before he's Weird, he's Al and, as such, is not always happy. He gets depressed, angry, etc. just like the rest of us, and to expect him to always be happy is unrealistic. I think far too many people tend to get so caught up in a celebrity's persona that they forget the inherent complexity that comes with humanity.

Personally, I'd think it odd if the man WASN'T unhappy/anxious/whatever sometimes. Being devoid of the fanboy mentality, I can appreciate a famous person I admire for their entire personality. Hell, if he were to release a serious album, I'd buy it with the same enthusiasm as I have all his others just because I respect him as a person and musician in his own right.

But, the 2 guys walked into that situation with preconcieved notions of how uncool he would be, and didn't give him a chance. Why then should Al give them one?

I agree. If Al can't be offstage, quiet and pensive, while he eats his dinner, then when the heck can he be? Smartypantses like those two must be one of the most chronic aggravations of Al's job.

i just read the interview, and they definitely had some pretty warped preconceptions....anyone interviewing celebrities should be very aware that they are people too, otherwise you end up the way those morons did, extremely disappointed

If I had been asked such rude questions, I'd have been pretty bummed out about having to do an entire interview with those jerks, to. How can anyone expect an interviewee to enjoy talking to you when you're that rude?
And to make matters worse, they even go on to insult us, Al's fans. To think that Al's humour is only suitable for children just shows how stupid these guys really are.
Anyways, I've only just seen this interview for the first time, and I doubt I could say anything that hasn't already been said about it by you guys. So I'll just say, I'm angry and offended. :(
