I figure it's about time for me to post some of my pictures from my mission to Mexico I took with my youth group.
This is from our first day...let's see...I think this one was taken on the plane
On the ground again. We landed in San Diego and drove out to Ensenada from there. This is Mexico. Things really are different down there. The crop circles are even completely different!
Whoever told you not to look into the sun has obviously not experienced the lightsaber effect
Here we are at the camp. A few of the ladies up on the balcony
We couldn't let everyone in!
Ah yes...the mud. It rained the first day we were there so it was pretty muddy for the next two days
Look at our team members, just wading through it!
Eww...
Unfortunately, not the first we had run across already on the trip
This was the beach. "Come on, shadow, you're missing all the fun!"
The public s were really high points of the trip
This was my team throughout the week. From left to right: Amanda, Kyle, Ryan (me), Issy, Ben, Alisha, Annie, Andrew, and Annette
This was the neighborhood we were building in
We had the oppertunity to serve breakfast to a preschool before our first outreach day
"Where did my bread go?"
It makes me feel good to know that I'm not the only one who enjoys a game of Magical Fairy Princess Pony before eating my bread
No, Ben, that's for the children!
And then came recess and the ... kamuchis ... That Spanish for the game we call the piggyback ride...very tiring. At first we were confused by the idea, but we soon caught on (this is Warren, by the way. One of our sub-group's two leaders)
Our other leader, Judy, shows us some more unconventional methods
I am the first victim of the Ensenada Strangler
Sleeping on the job?
Just some kids playing
We had to stop a couple of times so the Muslim kids could say their prayers but that only took a minute or two jk, it was a Christian preschool
Kyle doesn't take no crap from nobody (Wow! A triple negative!)

Kamuchis aren't so hard when you think you're Chuck Norris

You know, the Mexican preschool really isn't very different from my high school...except that I'm usually the one that's crawling all over the desks
"Oh no! Pop quiz?! I have to get out of here!"
This is the church we did our outreach at. Really
A wee bit of me
The kids loved playing jumpr--wait a minute! Where was this long jumprope when we were tying two smaller jumpropes together down by the soccor field?!
The boy in the yellow looks to be in a very odd state of balance...
Here I am, handing out the beads for the craft
Dare I enter the futbol field?
This is the house us and our sister team were working on throughout the week with one day's work already done on it (by our sister team)

Yeah, this turned into more of a Three Stooges-like routine than it had to...
Getting our first piece of sheet rock up
Here I am, nailing the sheet rock to the boards with the help of our friend Mr. T
Issy holding up the heavy sheet rock
A lot of chemistry...
I'm teaching the children how to fly
A little boy on our second day of outreach
And another child
Teaching the kids
I'm helping with the craft
I heard balancing on one leg will cause the industrial-sized ice cream truck to spill its load
I'm still not completely convinced this wasn't a rat...
They spontaniously started braiding my hair
Yeah, this is me again
Doing my imitation of Jesus

This was a game the kids played with me. They'd copy my motions and expressions. Pretty fun
Jeez, the freaking Passion of the Christ back there
They really enjoyed arm wrestling
The arm wrestling got a bit out of hand...
Even with kids hanging off of me...
That it. Double income -- no kids
Just Kyle showing off again...
They really got into the worship time
OMG
The kids seemed to like this craft a lot better than the other one
Am I the only one who sees the resembelance?

Not being able to affort cars, the Mexicans rely on less conventional means of transportation
Kyle and a kid that speaks surprisingly good English
