Poodle Hat was an odd case because Al and TBITB recorded the parodies quickly in order to meet the mastering deadline. Al has probably managed his time better for this album, allowing the recording dates to be a bit more spread out.

Hmm...Yeah, that would really explain the whole issue. But that year might have actually been more difficult for Al in terms of time...His wife was pregnant with Nina and he was probably working his time around his wife and everything that time...But even then, that gets me wondering. Maybe he had originally been planning to go in the end of February, but after Suzanne had Nina, Al didn't want to be in and out of the studio right after she was born...So maybe he changed his recording dates around a little bit so he could have some off time.

With Poodle Hat, Al had taken the photos for the album in February (while recording for the parodies took place in March), so for all we know, Al could have just recorded the first 3 parodies for the ALbum, and is currently working on getting some of the pictures taken and everything, and then back to the studio. On that tone, however, we should probably be expecting some big news soon whether in terms of album cover teasers, or more recording dates and info...Yah. :Y

We'll have 12 songs... I think I read that Al's contract states that he has to have at least 5 parodies on an album. If 6 of those songs are originals (like weirdal.com stated) then he has to record at least 2 more parodies and most likely he'll do a polka.

Has anyone checked wikipedia lately?

[quote="wikipedia.com - "Weird Al" Yankovic Discography"]
A twelfth album is currently in production with an expected release in late July/early August 2006.

I sure hope it doesn't take that long. :( But then again, anyone could have added that, so it might be fake.

And yes, I think we'll most likely be getting a 12-track album. Unless this will be another Even Worse (in the sense that it'll be polka-less). But then again, that was back in the Scotti Bros. days, so his contract may now require at least 12, like Jace said. Besides, there are more than enough hit songs out there to make a good polka.

I would tend to think that that isn't true. As you mentioned, tws, anyone can add content to wikipedia. I would assume that any info on release dates would be announced on The Mothership before it would be announced anywhere else. Also, we haven't seen that info anywhere else and I highly doubt wikipedia would have any kind of exclusive information.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

First of all, you have to take everything Wikipedia says with a grain of salt as it is user submitted but the information seems to be true more times than not.

If it is true, why are you so surprised? At the rate the album is coming so far, July / August is kind of the time frame we're expecting.

...Also, there is no need for spoiler boxes in the Spoiler Forum.

That's speculation, and it's against Wikipedia's policy to post speculation, so I edited it out. Thanks for the heads up.

Well, I'm not so much surprised, because it makes sense at the rate the album progress seems to be going, it's just kind of disappointing reading it, even though I don't believe it entirely. Who knows, maybe Al or one of the band members added that. But who knows.

EDIT: Ok, Dave. Thanks. 8)

The most intriging thing about that, even though it's speculation, is that it coincides with TWAS DVD release. I think somebody (Catra?) posted something like that earlier...
