Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

Who knows. I actually know a person at my university that really only knew Al for the Weird Al Show and she loved it. If I find it, I should tell her, because I'm pretty sure she would buy it.

You never know. People who have never seen the show, but really like Al might buy it out of curiosity. I agree that for the most part these DVDs will be bought by the die-hards, but I definitely wouldn't rule out the sales potential.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Well, you never know. The UHF DVD did extremely well, and that's a movie that mostly only die-hard fans know about.

The Weird Al show did have its own following. My friend absolutely loved TWAS, but couldn't tell you a single name of one of Al's songs. You know, except for the songs ON the show. You know what I mean.

I see what you're saying, but since the album and the DVD are being handled by two separate labels I don't know if the DVD date necessarily means that one can deduce an album date.

But if anything, there might have been a discussion between Al and Shout! like this:

"I'm also going to release an album this year. Can we make sure there's a wide enough gap between the two releases?"
"We were thinking of August. How does that work for you?"
"Perfect."

So, what does everyone think of the cover art (seen on the Mothership)? Pretty funky (in a good way) if you ask me.

i have never seen TWAS, and i'm going to buy it, i guess out of curiosity and because i've heard so much about it around here

that's pretty much the same reason i got UHF

the cover art for the TWAS DVD is pretty awesome, very weird. and it was a good choice to put an older pic of Al on there, not a recent one, that might confuse people who do only know Al from TWAS

I don't know; I'm not a big fan of the art. There isn't much going on (a shot of Al in the eyeball chair, maybe with some of the supporting characters in the background would jump out more), and it's too similar to a George Carlin book cover from a few years ago.

Don't get me wrong, I'll still buy it of course but the cover just seems too gimmicky for no real reason.

I kinda like the cover. Like Nova said, it is trippy. hehe! I can't wait to get my hands on that dvd!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
