Legally change his name to Yankovic to make all the writers jobs easier
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

I'm assuming that was spelled "Yankovic-h". That'd be kinda weird changing his real last name to the exact same name.

Wasn't his family name, a few generations back, *actually* pronounced Yankovic-h?? I think that's mentioned on the Mothership somewhere...

Most likely you're correct. And European names ending in "-ovich" are plenty more common than "-ovic." I just chalk the whole thing up to a simple mistake.

It's like when people call Kirstie Allie "Kristie" instead of "Kirstie." People who aren't big fans of hers (and who IS?) generally don't pay enough attention to know that her name is "Kirstie." Same goes for Al. People who aren't necessarily fans of Al's don't raise an eyebrow when someone calls him "Yankovi-ch." They don't pay enough attention to realize that that's wrong.

I'm sure somebody with a better memory than myself could list a whole slew of celebrities whose names are commonly butchered by the general public and even the media.

Yeah, I read that too. I believe it was in one of the Ask Al's.

Ask Al wrote: Derek Miner of Largo, Florida asks: I keep hearing people mispronounce your name as "Yanko-VICH." Why do you think they do this, and doesn't it bother you?

My paternal grandparents actually pronounced their name YONK-o-vich, so I guess there’s some history behind it. But it’s still one of my little pet peeves.

Is this what you're talking about? :)

Wow! A triple negative!

:P

I think you meant to say that Al will never be unfunny, right?
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!
