Ya know, I started taping it, but I can only put 4 hours on one tape at a time, so, after filling one up, I stopped. I don't know if I'll tape the rest once they play this show ad naseum after tonight. It's too much work.
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Although at least they should be given props for knowing the lyrics, or at least being able to read off a cue card.twinkieweinersandwiches24_7 @ Oct 28 2005, 09:36 PM wrote: And Al's rendition of Like A Surgeon is a lot better now than 20 years ago.The others who tried to sing should just be shot.

To me, those animated ad graphics are annoying only because they only show up on certain airings. Last night I tried recording one of Al's "Movies That Should Have Been in 3D" segments and an ad crawl went right over Al's body when he was imitating "Breakin'." And yet on today's showing, nothing was there this time.
I understand the little blurbs that appear during specific segments that say things like "Buy Heart CDs at shop.vh1.com" and such, but really, do we need constant on-air reminders of what's going to be on later? Most of us now have cable and satellite services that already offer such a feature via the remote, so it's a bit redundant. Are they that afraid that someone will gladly change the channel to avoid "I Love the '80s" unless they know immediately that in five hours an episode of "My Fair Brady" will be on? Sheesh, have some faith in the quality of your programming, VH1.

My take is that the series as a whole was pretty good. I loved that Al got the first commercial precursor in every episode, that he got a full five minutes in 85, that he popped in a lot. I was sad that UHF got 30 seconds and that he got slimed. All in all, I am pleased and excited.
My friends call me Sumo.

Aww, but it looked like Al enjoyed getting slimed. Plus, he was licking the slime as it dripped down his face. He said it was good..but, was it really?? I thought it was funny. Besides, would he have done that if he didn't want to? I loved his segments, and the fact that they came early on in the show was helpful.

Well, the slime from the original show was composed mainly of gelatin powder and water, so it probably wouldn't taste bad...but of course that's assuming VH1 didn't just guess at how to make it and instead came up with something really disgusting.algonacchick @ Nov 4 2005, 12:12 PM wrote: Plus, he was licking the slime as it dripped down his face. I put some slime (from outer space) in the cookbook, but it's made with glue (eewww) - hehe
