Ben Folds has an article in the July/August issue of Harp magazine, all about Randy Newman. The cool thing is, Ben wrote the article. It's pretty good, and I like the pic of Ben, too.
Also, Ben is scheduled to do a live gig in New York's SoHo district on September 6th. And it's FREE!
...Hollywood show has been extended and will now occur every Monday in August and September! Cast: Emo Philips, with two guest stars every week (recent ones include Judy Tenuta and "Weird Al" Yankovic!) Place: The Steve Allen Theater at the CFI, (on Hollywood Blvd two blocks west of Vermont.) Time: 8pm. Cost: Just ten lousy dollars. Thanks and hope to see you there! Your Slave to Public Merriment, Emo PS If you need more information to feel comfortable please go to www.EmoPhilips.com.
iTunes just released a bunch of exclusive Ben Folds recordings (iTunes Originals). There are a lot of dialog tracks but I don't think he discusses Al in any of them.
I'm ranking every Beatles song on my new pop culture blog. Check it out! https://anthonycusumano.wordpress.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Al's roommate, Ed McMahon, will be taking time out from selling beer and dog food this weekend to host the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. It' will be Ed's 38th year helping out!
I love the pics and the clip! Those are really cool pictures, and wonder when/where they were taken... For the clip, that's pretty good editing on Emo's (or whoever he hired/kidnapped to do the job's) part, unless there actually exists the full clip, in two different qualities somewhere, but I doubt it. *shrugs*
Here's an interview that Ben Folds did recently. I really liked it. It has music interspersed with the questions, which I found enjoyable. Al is mentioned, too.
You have to scroll down the page. Ben's is the only one that doesn't have a picture.
