scottidog, in french when a person says "thanks" (merci) i have to answer "de rien"? to thank, but I don't know what to answer in english. that to say in English?

If you don't mind me answering...
In English it is not necessary to reply after someone thanks you. However, you can say a variety of things. Personally, I say "No problem" but there are a lot of other things you can say.
