I'm sure Dr. Dad didn't think it was a real tattoo, either. But it was supposed to look like one, so that's why he said that.
I think it's Tony Geary as Dr. Jones, too. That's who it looks like to me, anyway. Tony doesn't wear glasses.

4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

I couldn't remember if he did or not, but he doesn't IRL. I used to be into General Hospital. I even had a little crush on Tony Geary. Ok I said it. Anyway, tws was the one who mentioned the glasses. Maybe he did wear them as Philo.

It is most definitely not Anthony Geary, as he didn't first meet Al until he auditioned for the role of Philo. In the "UHF" commentary Al even said they were initially unsure about casting Tony for the movie due to his more dramatic-leaning work on "General Hospital." One would think if Tony had worked with Al before, such as in a music video (and especially in the role of a crazy doctor), then there wouldn't have been any doubt about using him again in a similarly styled movie (or at least enough to bother bringing it up over a decade later).twinkieweinersandwiches24_7 @ Aug 21 2005, 12:51 AM wrote: My mom watched it, and she said it was Anthony Geary (Philo from UHF), only without glasses, but I'm not sure.![]()
This is partly the reason I wish "The Ultimate Video Collection" had commentaries on it, as Al would probably know or have recorded the names of every extra and crew member involved with every single frame.

That's certainly true, but Dr. Jones's hair, IIRC, was more "Doc Brownish" than it was Garfunkelish, like Tony's was at the time.algonacchick @ Aug 21 2005, 01:26 AM wrote: I guess it's the hairdo. It's similar to Philo's.

Exactly right, Patti. I know it's a sticker; Al used it as a tattoo metaphor, I suppose. Thenk yaw for clarifying.

Yeah, I've wondered about it before too. As Greg said earlier, I can tell you for sure -- it's NOT Tony Geary. It's a bit character actor that Al has used before. How do I know??
Watch "Dr Jones" on the "Living With A Hernia" video from 1986:

then watch the insane guy with the dog hand puppet in "Headline News" from 1994:

... same guy.

And you just KNOW he would, too :9~ ... so why'd it never happen? ... *moan*
