I checked and the nearest station with Alice is in Victorville, 90 miles from me. Stupid LA radio! No Alice & no Dr. Demento!

Well, if you read my post above yours, sailor, that doesn't matter any more, because WCSX streams online. I listened to Alice online last night, as a matter of fact.

Ben Folds' Songs for Silverman debuted at #13 on the Billboard charts with 50,000+ copies!!
I think Rockin the Suburbs and Ben Folds Live both debuted in the 40s on the chart, so how about that?

It did better than Poodle Hat, but only by about a couple thousand copies and 5 spots higher, so I wouldn't say it did much better.

And remember, that's just the opening sales. Al's albums have legs... his back catalog keeps on selling for years.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Yeah, Ben's only a cult favorite (Unfortunatly). When all is said and done about both albums, Poodle Hat will probably outdo Songs for Silverman by a healthy margin.
Of course, this isn't a competition
