Like a couple weeks ago, a lot of albums debuted on the charts, and forced Poodle Hat down.

No, this is actually the chart for next week. Why? Oh those wacky Billboarders!

The issues are dated the Friday of the week after. So, the 7/11 issue will have PH position at 53, even though PH was actually 53 for the week of 6/23-6/30. To make it even more confusing, Billboard weeks start on a Tuesday.



At least that's how I understand it.

What are we at right now? The sixth week on the charts?



Here are the first six Billboard chart positions that RWS held (asterisks indicating bullets)....



7-17-99 - 35*

7-24-99 - 16*

7-31-99 - 29

8-07-99 - 30

8-14-99 - 36

8-21-99 - 24*



As you can see, RWS was still doing very well, but by the sixth week the second video had already started airing and the tour had been going on for well over a month.



That sixth week was also the last time RWS would rise on the charts (or have a chart position with a bullet) until the very end of 1999 when "Al-TV 2K" started airing.



In comparison, by "Poodle Hat's" sixth week the tour has only just started and the album just received its first real TV exposure with "Al-TV," so it may still see an increase in the charts at the point in which RWS started to dip significantly.
