how come nobody from the band appeared in UHF, aside from the video? was it you were just not asked, or not interested?

We weren't asked, and none of us are actors. Except for a very few scenes, everything was shot in Tulsa, and the extras who already live there were cheaper than flying us out for a quick shot or two.
We did record a large portion of the background music (underscore) for the film though, so we're in there.
