It's the 20th anniversary of the infomercial today. So, on GMA, they were showing clips of the various ones we've all seen through the years. They showed Ron Popiel briefly, and played "Mr. Popiel" at that point. :D
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

i was watching vh1's "50 worst songs ever" (or whatever they're calling it) and somewhere around #12 was RICO SUAVE.

after a series of comedians commented on the ridiculousness of the lyrics, the fact that he's dressed like a pirate in the video, what a bad catch phrase it was, etc., one woman said, "you know, weird al didn't have to do anything, really. this song is a parody of itself already. he didn't have to do a thing."

which is, of course, not true... but i mention it because they talked about al AND showed the sexy IIATP clip where he's walking away from the car in his silver suite with the dancer girls around him.

you know me -- i was just excited to see al.

Yeah, I saw that, too. I liked the fact that they used a clip from IAATP! Mmmm, yummy! I mentioned this in the Taco Grande topic as well. Hey, as long as Al makes it on tv, it's cool with me!

Late last year we were watching one of those home renovation shows. There was apart where they were building an outdoor setting and they played the instrumental part in the "Hardware Store" song.

Eat It was in part of Burke's Backyard, a lifestyle program in Aus, in a segment about... well, I dunno. My bro just told me he saw it.

I'll... uh... try and get a picture of the credits. :lookaround:

I think Bill O'Reilly opened a segment on his radio show with a snippet from The White Stuff a couple of years ago. I can't remember why; I wasn't really paying attention. Also, Al was the #3 funniest moment in music on a recent VH1 special, and they were showing clips from Eat It, Fat, Like A Surgeon, and probably others.

This isn't exactly a "show", but on Newgrounds.com (the place with the AWBP flash video), GJWHL gets a quick excerpt during the second serial of Perfect Kirby, which BTW, is a hilarious random amusing story of the land of Nintendo...

This wasn't exactly on TV, but someone told me that they were discussing "Amish in the City" on a radio show on a local station in my area, and AP (Amish Paradise) was playing in the background! They couldn't have picked a better song!

"Eat It" was played once again on WABC radio's Curtis & Kuby show this morning. This time it was in reference to executed killer Robert Morrow's last meal request. His request, 10 pieces of crispy fried chicken, two cheeseburgers, three fried pork chops, chef salad with chopped ham and Thousand Island dressing, French fries and onions, five buttermilk biscuits with butter, four jalapeno peppers, a pint of Rocky Road ice cream, one bowl of peach cobbler or apple pie and two Sprites and two Cokes.
