And thanks for not shooting me for admitting I actually think he has some talent. Believe me, I'm more shocked than you are. :eh:

Don't be ashamed of that. Admitting he has some talent is a totally different animal than liking his lyrics. If you liked the lyrics, then we'd be raising our eyebrows in shock. I am a (Somewhat) fan, but I have reason to think you wouldn't feel that way :D

I am amazed at how honest he is in his lyrics. He may be full of you know what, but he doesn't hide what he thinks or feels. For better or worse, it's all out there.

I do have a bit of a problem with his martyr attitude. To think people would be offended by lyrics that do more than suggest he wants to rape his mother. The prudes!

But, darn it, the guy has talent. Which makes it worse, because I know what he could do with his music if he tried to raise it up out of the sewer.

I'm in the minority here in that I actually like most of what I've heard of Eminem's music. My favorite songs are the funny ones, of course, like "My Name Is", "The Real Slim Shady" and "Without Me", but I liked most of the ones that have been singles, or played on the radio and TV.

It's not the same as most of the other rap out there, that seems so interchangeable and generic.

Ok, back to the charts. I went to Hits Double Take site, a site for Hits magazine, and Al is doing even better on their chart than he is on the Billboard charts. Their charts are posted on Mondays. I'm going to post Al's and Eminem's chart positions, showing that Al is outselling Em, even though Em has a "Lose Yourself" video, yet Al has no video! So on 5/26, Poodle Hat debuted at #16. Eminem, however, was at #35. On 6/2, Poodle Hat was at #34. Eminem was at #45! As of 6/9, Al is at #39. Eminem is at #46. So, even thought they are both dropping, Al is still outselling Em! So that's something to keep our spirits up! :)

Don't mean to rain on the "Bash Em" parade, but "The Eminem Show" was released a year ago, so I hope "Poodle Hat" can outsell it. Also, "Lose Yourself" is actually on the "8 Mile" soundtrack and not on "The Eminem Show", although he does have videos for songs on "The Eminem Show" of course, most recently, "Sing For The Moment".

Also, they finalized the chart at Hits, and AL actually moved up from the projection to stay at #34!! Yay!!

Ok, so Lose Yourself isn't on The Eminem Show, and I don't care how old that cd is, Al is still outselling Em! Even with that lame Sing for the Moment song. I just can't believe Aerosmith gave him the ok to use one of my favorite songs of theirs. The point is, Al is still outselling Em!! And just where is the 8 Mile soundtrack on the charts, hmmmm? Last year, really? Near the end of the year? When exactly was that cd released? (The Eminem Show)

"The Eminem Show" was released a year ago, so I hope "Poodle Hat" can outsell it.

Specifically, at the end of May/beginning of June. The 8 Mile soundtrack, as usual, was released when the movie was released, but Em has only 3 songs on that album, "Lose Yourself" being the only hit, so it didn't sell as well.

All I'm saying is that Al outselling "The Eminem Show" the last 3 weeks is about as remarkable as the fact the "The Matrix Reloaded" made more money than "Scooby Doo" at the U.S. box office last weekend. Why? One is new. The other is old.

Now if Eminem had a recent album released, say since March, and Al was outselling that, then that would be very cool.

Well, if Hits is accurate, that means Al has climbed into the six digits in three weeks! Whoo!!! Go Al!

I'd have to think at the very least that makes Poodle Hat Al's fastest selling cd!

Poodle Hats for everybody!
