Tour Buses
I just thought I might bring this up to your attention, has anyone noticed in Al's tour rider in the transportation it says that 1 tractor trailer and 3 tour buses. 3 tour buses, do you think Al and Suzanne get a bus to themselvs and the band get one to themselves.

well from what Al said on Dr. Demento, Suzanne and Nina are staying home. If I can also remember (ooh this is hard for me  ) they tour for four (?) weeks then go home for a week.....
so I bet Al and TBITB share a bus, and the crew splits up...come on, that crew has gotta be pretty big.....or maybe it's all scrambled....who knows?

We were wondering about that, but when Al was interviewed by Dr. Demento, he said that they'd decided it would be better not to take a newborn on tour. That was why they were going to be touring in two-week stretches, with four days off after each stretch.
So now I think it's just because Al has a LOT of sleep to catch up on.
But who knows? They may be divvying up the buses, with two guys in each one, or they may be taking along extra musicians this time.
And it does make sense to me that they'll be parking the buses and going home for a while in early September-- that should be just before Nina 1) starts crawling (two adults chasing one child sounds like about the right ratio) and 2) gets to the developmental stage where she starts being afraid of strangers. We really don't want her to start crying when she sees her daddy.

I hadn't thought of that... but the crew is pretty big. Something like 15 people? Doing all that heavy lifting and sharing one dinky bathroom on one bus?
I think the band bus must smell like roses compared to that...
On this tour, isn't it supposed to be one crew bus and two band buses?
I don't think those dinky bus bathrooms have shower capabilities. That's why venues are required to provide such large numbers of oh-so-fluffy towels (remember some of that stuff about tour etiquette from the humor page of Bermuda's site?)
