I hope something Al-related appears in 2005.

I'm willing to wait until 2006. Good things come to those who wait, ya know. ;)

Al DOES want to spend time with his family, and friends. He does have a life outside of a tour bus, and I know all his adoring fans will give him time and space, just like everyone else needs once in a while.

This doesn't mean we won't chomp at the bit.

We just won't tear his leg off.

2005 is going to be busy for me anyways...I'll be graduating and going to college... :oo have I mentioned I'm not ready for this?

Just around the time things start to calm down, in 06, he'll be touring again, at least. Al's never FORCED himself to do things like write ALbums quicker than he wants to. Even if he doesn't have a new album in 06, it's not like he doesn't have any material to choose from...

Have I mentioned how happy I was just to see an Ask Al update?

Yeah, what she said. :(

Al could surely sell out a concert or two right here in Los Angeles in an off-year without a new album. And he could go home at night.

'The world tours to see Al'-I'm liking it. Seriously, I'm glad the talk is of a briefer break this time. Al gets to see lots of Suzanne and gets to get Nina through her twos, and we get a well-rested Al in a couple of years with at least some new material if not a whole new album. I wasn't able to travel very much in 2004 and didn't really travel at all in 2003 so I get another shot at some good tour-chasing after saving my pennies and hotel points and frequent flyer miles.

I think I agree with RWDW! Al needs at least a year off after the year he's had. I waited four years for PH I think I can wait one year for a new album. So if Al wants to take 2005 off that's cool with me.

Although if he wants to work on a new album, that's cool too.

That especially. As much as I want the tour to continue into 2005, I'd really like to see Al spending more time with his family. I'd hate to see him out on the road more than with his family. So, actually, I'm super happy with this news.

It's gonna make 2005 go by super slow, but come 2006...........

Plus now, I have over a year and a half to save up my money for tour chasing! Al is gonna get tired of seeing me come next tour! :sly:

Just because Al won't be on the road doesn't mean we won't see him. After all, he's savvy enough to know he needs to keep his name and face out there. There have been several projects while he's been busy, so there may be things in the works when he's at home.

And I vote for giving him the time he needs, though I'll miss him terribly.

Still, it isnt going to be the full blown tour or anything. I wont get to personally see him for a while, but I know he'll have projects and whatnot. At least with those projects, his time will probably be more flexible, and he'll be with his family, which is definatly what he needs. And TBITB have earned a break too. They've worked really hard this last year.
