I'm sorry. I certainly didn't mean to alienate those without cable, but the liklihood of a normal network wanting to pick up 13 reruns of a not-too-successful CBS kids show from five years ago is very small.

I think we all know by now that cable's true raison d'etre is to air repeats of shows that didn't make it to syndication.

And to respond to another idea on here, if VH1 doesn't bite, probably our next target will be Nickelodeon (yes, even though they're the same company).

Comedy Central might also be a potential host for TWAS episodes. They have AbFab periodically, after all, and there weren't all that many episodes produced of the original show and just 6 of the new batch of shows.

Truthfully, I'd love for Al to pick up the ball from Wayne Brady and have some kind of demented variety show. So many of his best non-music pieces are short TV and film parodies [e.g. those from UHF and from TWAS], he could bring on all sorts of performers, perform his own stuff of course, do some more educational films [oh PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE!] and not have to worry about having to fit some contrived network positive message into the episode. He could even parody those messages .

Oh well, a fan can dream.....

I think they should have Al on HA! as an animated character, or they could just bring it back.

My sister does remember seeing commercials for it, and I think I saw part of it too, but I wasn't that big of an Al fan back then. Oh yeah, and I remember seeing something about the show in Disney Adventures. I think they should show it on the Disney channel and on One Saturday Morning on ABC and One Too on UPN. Besides, Radio Disney used to play some of his songs, usually Eat It and I Love Rocky Road. They also would sometimes play Spam and My Bologna, because I remember hearing them in 1999, when I first started listening to it. I think I heard another song that I think was by him on there, it was about someone harassing people over the phone when his folks were out :???: I don't even know if it was an original or a parody either :???:

The Weird something-or-other Show....

Post by CatraDhtem »

If I may post a small addition to the thread, last month some of you may have noticed that on the "We Want The Weird Al Show" page I included a new interview with one of the show's writers (and if you didn't see that, well there's no stopping ya now!). :D

Well, hoping to continue this tradition every five and a half weeks or so, there is a new, very special interview now posted. I won't normally announce each new one like this, but I did want to bring it up to fans of the show because I chatted with a very cool member of the cast...who offered some unique insights into the production of the show. It's a pretty hood interview---I mean, good interview.
