Well, my first "Weird Al" concert was 2 months and 13 days ago. I was browsing on the site and looked at the tour page. I was really mad that I couldn't go to the one down in Valdosta, Georgia last year. But I looked at the page with hopefulness, thinking maybe I'll be able to go. And then I saw it. April 22, Atlanta,Ga, The Tabernacle!!! I was so very happy. Now to tell the person who can drive me there as well as pay for the tickets seeing as I'm flat broke, MOM! She was happy with the idea and bought 2 tickets for her and me.Now this was in March and then it eased into April. On the morning of April 12th, the morning show anounced that Al's parents died. Of course being the stupid morning show people that they are, they made fun of it by saying that now Al's probably gonna do a parody about it. I thought that was really mean. It was very sad. I really felt sorry for him and then I also thought about how much it would suck to have the tour canceled. OY! But I thought that what would happen would happen and if it was that, so be it. But it would still reeeeaaaallllyy suck. I didn't check the site from that point because I had to "be good" and "make good grades" in order to go, so I wasn't on the computer much. But by the time April 22 had come around, I was surprised I could even pay attention to what my teachers were saying. I had also asked my mom if she could buy me a copy of Poodle Hat so I could bring it with me and possibly get it signed since my copy of Running With Scissors isn't really in the best condition. She had said maybe (the synonym of no) but later that day I found a ribbon hanging from my fan tied around Poodle Hat! I didn't have time to listen to it though because we had to leave very quickly. When we finally got there, The Tabernacle wasn't even open. People were sitting outside on the steps just talking with their friends and waiting. It was really cool watching all the die hards there. People wearing shirts from other Al concerts. When the doors opened, we flew in. It took us awhile to find the seats we were supposed to be sitting in but eventually we got it. Fifth row aisle. Those seats were friggin awesome! When the show was almost starting, a guy came out to do stand up. Oy, he was really bad. Wasn't very funny, his jokes were really lame but I think he did a good job anyway because you really have to respect people that do stand up because it's harder than hell to do. And then finally...it was time. Al came out with accordian and burst into Angry White Boy Polka. I took so many pictures from the opening sequence, it looks like a freakin flipbook! I'll scan as soon as I find out how to work the scanner. The show was amazing! If you've never been to a Weird Al concert, you should be taken aside and be doused in shaving cream! I got to cross out one of the things on the list of things to do before I die. I was so happy when he performed One More Minute because that was the song my best friend and I were going to sing the next week for the talent show (we didn't win but that's only because the judges really don't know what art really is). But the best part was when he sang Wanna B UR LOVR. He went out into the audience and up to people but he came up to me and sang! That was one of the best experiences of my life! We got a picture of it too (you can't see me in it so it looks like he's singing to somebody else but IT'S ME!). By the end of the concert, I was really sad that it was over. BTW, how do you get backstage passes? Because a heckuva lot of ppl had them. Anyway, since we couldn't go backstage, we found the tour bus outside. We went out, hoping that maybe Al was doing meet and greets. We saw the guys who were in front of us. They were pretty nice guys who took some really good pictures with a digital camera. They took a picture of us and we gave them my mom's e-mail. Unfortunatly, they lost the e-mail, I guess or something happened and we haven't heard from them. So after 2 months and 13 days we know their names were Chris and Allen (Alan) and they live in Alabama. They got to go to the concert in Valdosta and got Al to sign a Yoda doll. Allen (Alan- I have no idea how to spell it and I'm really anal about that) brought an ashtray from the Albuquerque Holiday Inn to get signed this time. I got the inside booklet thingy signed by Steve and Jim. About a week later, I read Al's letter about his folks.
So I now knew why he wasn't out there signing stuff although that's what I thought about in the first place. Well, that's my experience. If you actually read all this, reply and tell about yours!

well my 1st and 2nd, it was a 2 show venue, the 2nd was a 21 and over, and i think that was the last time they played those, any way a X-friend went to a show and thru a note on stage for AL and he read it, they meet, i was driving home one day and saw the marquee with his name on it, and had to tell the X-friend about it, it was here
11-13-92 Oak Theater Chicago IL, it was about 5 blocks from my house, i also happen to get 2 tattoos the same day, anyway this venue was a closed, run down, strip club, they opened it up just for the show, i think they may have done other concerts there, they toreit down and its now a bank

My first concert experiance was for the RWS tour in febuary 2002 it was my favorate concert to date and the 1 thing that made it memorable is my dad said we should go to the 1st row for Yoda so being the smart guy my father was he had us go to right by the speakers but we got to se Al from a cool side angle.

My first Al concert was on July 27th, 1996. It was at the old Nautica Stage here in Cleveland. I had heard Amish Paradise, and I had recently bought Bad Hair Day, and I loved it. When I heard the news that Al was coming to town, I begged my parents to let me go. They at first said no, because I was only 9 years old, and they thought I was too young to go to a concert. But they finally gave in, and I got to go to my first Al concert. It was all General Admission, but we got there early, and scored some pretty sweet seats. I don't remember too many details of the concert, but I do remember it being awesome as heck.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

Here's my review of my first ever Al concert. I was such a newbie then... I had no idea who Jon, Steve, or Jim were (though I've been an Al fan since 1982). I just thought they were the backup band, not members of Al's close-knit posse. (Hey, we all have to start somewhere!!)

And, that exciting feature #21.... I got to meet Al!

Who would have guessed that one show would inspire some really intense tour chasing? I sure didn't see it coming.

This Friday's DC show will be #27 for me.

My first concert was amazing. The week before the concert, i bought the ticket, because my mom had to "decide" to let me go. she said that i could take one of my best friends, Angie, because her brother had passed away earlier that summer, and she wanted Angie to feel a little better and just be able to take her mind off a lot of stuff. the day of the concert arrived, unfortunately, i thought the concert was the next day and my mom said no, its today. so i called Angie and said "the concerts tonight! can you meet us on Rochester road?!" and she said "i can't go! my uncles in from california!" and i said "ok! well, i'll see you later!" and so i called everyone else, trying to find someone, and finally i had to take my brother. so, i grabbed my sign and put on my homemade "I <3 Weird Al" t-shirt and we were on our way! we finally got there and we got in, and found our seats. then i went to go buy a t-shirt, right in front of me in line was my now best friend, Josh. I then went back to my seat and waited, this stand-up came out. he was ok. then... i heard the funky song, Fun Zone, and i stood up and cheered! i went into total cheerleader mode! it was so fun! i was firing up and jumping up and down, it was so fun!!! i don't really remember the rest of the concert, it was all a blur. *sigh* a very fun blur...

My first Al concert was the same as Kevbo's, at the Nautica stage in Cleveland and I was only a mere 41 yrs. old at the time. Outside of being there with someone who was and is not an Al fan, I had a great time. I remember seeing people dressed as Amish people and laughed like crazy, never realizing that I, too, someday would be bringing song type costumes and props with me!!! Maybe I now help entertain others. It was the beginning of a great run for me!
