Maybe our friend is looking for Al's rarities?? I don't know. All I know is I too used to get totally annoyed every time someone would ask me if I heard Al's latest "Song". Usually I correct them and tell them that you're listening to a mislabel that was accredited to Al.
Okay, here's an example: Last friday, while at work, my supervisor wanted me to burn some of his .mp3 collection (Non-Al songs!) to CD on my laptop. When we networked mine and his computer together, I got a song called REO Speedwagon - Heard It From A Friend.mp3, I told my supervisor that I have this on a legit album and the name of that song is "Take It On The Run" so even non-al songs get mislabeled sometimes.
My point is, if people think it's a parody, (even the crappy stuff out there) they'll automatically assume that it was done by our boy.
a shame isn't it? It's hard to convince the whole internet that these songs weren't written or performed by Al.
You can try to correct them, but there'll always be that group you didn't get to.

Another thing is that some of the people under the impression that these are Al's songs are fans. A few months ago, a friend of mine who is a huge Al fan came up to me and asked me if I had heard Al's latest song. He then proceeded to tell me about this song, "Bomb Iraq". It took a lot of time to convince him that it was not an Al song.
Oh by the way, I've cracked the code.

A few years ago, one of my friends said he downloaded a bunch of Al songs off Napster and made a huge Weird Al CD, and so I said, "Sure, play it." Yeah, here's his CD:
1. Barney's on Fire
2. I Ran Over the Taco Bell Dog
3. Livin' La Vida Yoda
4. Oops, I Farted Again
5. Grapefruit Diet
6. It's All About the Pentiums
7. Baby Got Jack
8. Bimbo #5
9. Combo #5
10. Star Trek Rhapsody
11. Ugly Girl
12. Another One Rides the Bus
13. Jurassic Park
14. Bomb Iraq
15. What If God Smoked Cannabis
16. The Beer Song
17. Cats in the Kettle
18. Men in Brown
19. My Name is Darth Vader
20. Which Backstreet Boy is Gay
Okay...we have Bus, Pentiums, Jurassic Park, and Grapefruit Diet. That's IT.

I will bad mouth those particular songs if I want. All of those on that list that are not Al's are sheer garbage! I'm not against other people who write parodies. If those songs were any good, I would't bad mouth them, but they aren't!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:
"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11
So awesome!

Bob Rivers was never good. He's a terrible parodist.
However, there are some other talented people out there besides Al that do comedy music. For example, there's The Arrogant Worms and Tony Goldmark, both of which I have every album of.
And there are also some parodists that post here right on this very board. (Me, Mad Genius, Ryan...)
