While I agree with BTD that Syndicated Inc. is one of Al's worst songs, I wouldn't go as far as to say it is his worst ever. I think the accordion solo is good. (I wish that was available separately, so I could hear it without having to hear the rest of that awful, unfunny song.)
I'm like Gina... I don't listen to BHD either. Its only saving graces are Gump, TNSWC, Amish Paradise, and EYKIW.

Everybody points to that ONE attempt at a joke to say that the song is funny or "has its moments," but really what's so funny about it? It doesn't really make any joke specific to "Regis and Kathy Lee." That same line could be rewritten about any number of TV shows and still have the same effect.Kevbo1987 @ May 8 2004, 10:16 AM wrote: I do love the line "Think I'm losing my sanity, I'm addicted to Regis & Kathie Lee".![]()
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Seinfeld' and 'Mr. Bean.'"
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to Mayberry RFD."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Wheel' and 'Jeopardy."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to watching 'Three's Company."
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'Beverly Hillbillies.'"
"Think I'm losing my sanity. I'm addicted to 'The Partridge Family.'"
Here is how Al most likely went about writing this song.
Step 1) Open TV Guide and identify all the syndicated programs
Step 2) Circle all the ones that end in the "long e" sound
Step 3) Record song
Step 4) Replace guitar solo with accordion solo in order to make the song somewhat tolerable

as in Bruce The Duck/Adrian, please don't bash the song in this topic.

*Achy Breaky song is a good song, although ABH wasn't. that that's the joke.

I was a little dissapointed with this song. I liked Soul Asylum a lot, but I'm surprised Al picked this song to parody. It got some radio play, but nowhere near the stuff on "Grave Dancer's Union." You couldn't turn on the radio without hearing "Runaway Train." Maybe Al felt "Runaway Train" would be too old by the time BHD came out considering Soul Asylum had just released their next album. He may have (wrongly) guessed (or hoped) that "Misery" would get the same airplay "Runaway Train" did.
It's a dead on parody, but like Jeremy says, it's just a list of TV shows, their only conncetion being that they're syndicated. *yawn*
At least Al did make up for the bad Soul Asylum parody though by doing an awesome Soul Asylum style parody three songs later!
