Hey there. :bigups:
I've never been to a WeirdAL performance before and was wondering if it is stand up with some songs, or pretty much all songs. Just wanted to know. My fiance has always loved his parodies, so this would be a great gift for his bday. Just wanted to know how you all would describe the concert. Thanks for any help in advance.

A lot of it depends on the venue...If ther are seats, try to control yourself as much as possible s othat the unlucky people behind you can get a good view as well. That being said, I had front row seats and pretty much abandoned them for the encore (And I even faced the crowd and tried the choreography for the Yoda Chant...untill somone decided to do it *LOTS* Faster...)
If it's festival seating (no reserved seats...) YOu'll probably be allright standing the whole time. Hope this helps:)

yes! that is what im thinking, daytona is going on sale monday so i think that's what i'll get him. i always thought he was funny in interviews, so i thought maybe he did a little stand up or something. I think it that is much better, all songs, then what i was thinking it was like. Thanks! :)

It's funny how the celeberties open up and show their true selfs with Al! Like Celine Dion could "Smell the cooking of her mother" when her family was captured and eaten by canibals, and said it was great fun! Something we'd never catch her saying if she was being interviewed by someone like Oprah! :P

I think they showed that part of the Celine interview in concert. They edited out a lot from it, and I forget if they showed that part.
2018 Tour: Rochester, Minneapolis, Fargo, Clear Lake, and Green Bay...so far...

Hi Danielle! A Weird Al concert is all songs-- Al isn't a stand-up comedian-- with lots of costume changes. They play some very funny stuff on the video screens while Al is backstage changing clothes. It's a fast-paced, high-energy rock show put on by an awesome bunch of musicians who really know what they're doing. Oh, yes, and it's hilarious! There are songs from Al's entire career, from his first hits in the early 80's to lots of songs off his (Grammy-winning!) new album Poodle Hat. Go. Take your boyfriend. You won't regret it. :)
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Al puts on one excellent show. You will walk in with a smile on your face, and walk out with an even BIGGER smile on your face. It is amazing how he never stops! And the video clips are hilarious. It's not only Al, his band is AMAZING. Jim, Steve, Ruben, and Bermuda are great musicians and when you hear them live, it is awsome! You and your fiance will have a blast if you see him live.

As much as I love the Weird Al Live video and DVD, I won't recommend it [yet] if you have the opportunity to see an actual concert first. Then if you love the concert buy the DVD (it's from the last tour, but several of the songs are the same).

The video was available before I ever saw Al live for the first time, but I'm glad I didn't know about it until AFTER I saw an actual Al concert.
This means something. This is important.

Welcome to WOWAY, yank! Al doesn't do any stand up at his concert (unless you count the "skits" he does in the beginning of One More Minute and A Complicated Song) he just sings which is just as funny with his wild costume changes and everything. It's an experience you won't ever forget! ききます
