My wife and I saw Al and the boys blow the house away in Fort Collins last night. It was sold out and the loudest crowd I've heard at an Al show (and we've seen a lot!). You go boy! There are two extremes that we see. One extreme is when We check into the hotel or dinner and tell people we are there to see Weird Al and they say "is he still around?" I take it granted that everyone knows about Al, and aren't aware that he is still very current and happening. Then we get to the show and see all the happy fans. We just love talking to the fans and getting the background on how they first heard of Al. I compare it to parents taking thier kids to Disneyland and hold them up to see Tinkerbell when she floats through the air just before the fireworks. We talked to a man who drove up from Utah with his son to see the show. The guys sitting behind us yelling Amish Paradise all night. They we having a real good time, as we all were. Al is a first concert experience for a lot of kids. I tell them that Al's show will spoil them. :great:

Thanks for the review FreightTrain! Woo! Woo!

Definitely agree with your experience, on the aspects of the local town and the crowd that Al attracts. It's a blast seeing so many different places and crowds.

Was always an Al fan growing up, but only got to my first show in 2010, and I was blown away. Been to other concerts by other acts, and his was by far the most polished and fun. Going to my second one soon, and hopefully many many more. The first show I saw was with a friend of mine who was also a longtime Al fan, so we were stoked. This time around, well, it's with a couple friends who aren't 'harcore' Al fans: they know the somewhat 'bigger' hits via YouTube, but wouldn't know a lesser known song like Mr. Frump. I told them they'd enjoy it regardless.

Sounds like you had a great time.
