World of Weird Al Yankovic

I've finally got enough post to start a new thread, and I can't find anything relavent in the search.

I have vaguely mentioned it before, but how do people dance to the polkas? In Manchester (UK) in Jilly/The Ritz (same DJ) the techniques was either with a partner, or in a ring, to spin around as fast as possible - whilst singing on the top of your lungs. The alternative is to dosey do - Irish style. Was it just us, or do others dance that way?
