Parody/original song ideas

So, here is a topic. How many of you had ideas for Al? Everyone, eh? After all, everything can turn into some pretty awesome material. But of course, Al never accepts parody ideas since there are many chances that he doesn`t get the artist`s agreement. So, if anyone of you had some great ideas, post them here!

One of my ideas was a 5-minutes song called "Expresso", where the beats starts very slow, and raises each time the character takes a sip out of his Expresso cup. At the end, the beat is extremely speedy, at at the last sip, it causes a bad reaction and everything comes back slow. That would be an original song.

Thanks, I just got a new idea for a comedy song!

But seriously, I understand Al can't accept parody ideas, he has a twisted mind of his own, but that doesn't stop me from using all the good ideas first as payback.

I think the real reason he doesn't take ideas is because most people who think they can write a parody actually can't.

See: Most everybody at Amiright.com.

Actually, according to his wikipedia page. it says "he does it for career and personal reasons." Probably he prefers to make his own decisions, his own ideas. BUt since we can`t send him our ideas, why not give them here, for the fun of everyone on the forum? And if Al stumbles on this topic (I have no idea if it will actually happen), then he will see our ideas. Maybe that will give him some, since he won`t ake them.

If you want Al to look at this topic, he needs to be tricked into it. I guarantee you he won't click on "parody song ideas."

Most parody ideas I have get recorded by my band, except in a few cases where I think the idea sucks (which actually happens more often than not).

Well, as long as I'm logged in to this forum, I might as well be the first to trot out my lame parody ideas. I don't claim to be able to write them, but that doesn't mean I can't stick a lame title or a theme/concept to a song and just leave it there.

Like any of you, I lamented the absence of a classic rock song tied in to a then-current movie on SOL (PH had OTAS, RWS had TSB, Alapalooza had Jurassic Park.) I think he needs another one of these on his next album. Who says it has to be a classic song? He could take the piss out of a current song and tie that in to a current movie. I had some ideas for this that obviously seem too dated now. Al could've detailed the plot of "Juno" to the tune of Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love" and called his version "Breeding Love." Or, he could really ruthlessly make fun of the plot to the Twilight saga. I mean, REALLY rip on this whole "modern vampire" fad and pull no punches with a parody on an "Achy Breaky Song" level of lyrical brutality. This got me thinking. Taylor Swifts' "Love Story" is pretty big on the pop charts right now and seems to be getting a lot of airplay. The scenery of that video kinda reminds me of something you'd see in an Anne Rice novel for some reason. I'm not even holding my breath for a Taylor Swift AL TV interview either let alone a polka clip or full length parody on the next album, but if Al wanted to he could mercilessly make fun of Twilight as a parody of "Love Story" and title it something like "With Apologies To Stephanie Meyer" (okay, you do better.) Before any of you try to find where I live and then subsequently kill me and parade around with my intestines and severed head on a stick, think about this...Al could make a really silly video for this one acting out his versions of scenes from the film (ala "Gump") and wearing those weird guy clothes on the balcony for the other scenes...I'm laughing already picturing AL wiht robert Pattinson hair...

No? Okay then...uhh...how about another TV themed song? Al could've probably got T-Pains' permission to record a parody of "Bartender" called "Bart and Homer" (as a tribute...get it? cos the Simpsons movie had come out?) or on SOL he could've parodied "L.O.V.E." by Ashlee Simpson as "L.O.S.T." I'm willing to bet that was one of his other "mediocre" post-YP parody ideas. Hey, maybe Al could've updated MFN/BH by singing the Beverly Hilllbilies lyrics to "The Way I Are" (I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IT WILL TOTALLY WORK PERFECTLY!!!!!) or maybe he could've gone a different route by singing the lyrics to the "Gilligans' Island" theme song to either "Lollipop" by Lil Wayne or "So What" by Pink. (I ALSO KNOW FOR A FACT THAT BOTH OF THOSE SONGS WILL ALSO WORK PERFECTLY at least the first part of the way, through...)

...or, continuing with this line of thought, Al could've set the lyrics of "They're Coming To Take Me Away (Ha - Ha)!" by Napoleon XIV to the tune of "Don't Stop The Music" by Rhianna and replace the sample of "Wanna Be Startin Somethin" with Spike Jones' "Hawaiian War Chant." It could probably be the best thing that ever happened to the Dr. Demento show and get an INSANE amount of airplay...but alas, the ONLY problem with all of these possibilities is that they'de be far too dated by the time 2010 rolls around and they'd be better suited for the next polka medley...but think about it...these could've worked perfectly...I think I had some more, but I must've forgot them (ooh, "Birthday Sex" by Jeremih could've had something to do with "texts" or text messaging...as sort of a companion piece to "Ringtone"...or somebody could've just sang the lyrics to "Happy Birthday" to this song and called it "Happy Birthday Sex")...uhh...I think thats' it...I think I'll just end it here...

Nobody said these had to be good ideas now, did they?

That's what I thought...

I agree that the Twilight craze is the first major phenomenon in a while worthy of a Weird Al parody.

That would be pretty cool.

I gotta admit these are some brilliant ideas. I like the Twilight one, since I`m an anti-fan of the Twilight Saga. Maybe I just don`t feel that vampires and werewolves should know love, no matter how handsome they are. But Harry Potter got no song however....

As for the polka medley, someone with a Dragon Ball avatar (I don`t remember his name) had suggested Connect the Dots Polka, and it sounds good. This is also open for suggetions. If you think a song must at all costs be part of the medley, say it.

Guys, Twilight isn't a movie series. It's a book series.

The same for Harry Potter.
