Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

[Mods: feel free to move this message if there's already an appropriate established topic-I couldn't find it.]

This morning while heading over to the Santa Fe Springs parole office, I turned to 100.3 FM, KSWD The Sound, which is just about the only interesting FM station left in Los Angeles. They had a feature "10 at 10" and this morning it was 10 songs from 1985. I flipped to them just in time to hear, on REAL LIVE BROADCAST RADIO, Al singing "Like a Surgeon". :D The DJ's comments after the song referenced the station staff becoming deliriously silly at that moment, fond memories of KMET 94.7 and their upside-down billboards as well as Dr. Demento, and "how could we do a 1985 segment without Weird Al? Besides, wouldn't you rather hear that version of the song than the original one that Al parodied, anyway?"

The next song was a Tom Petty song. Damn fine company Tom Petty keeps. ;)

When was the last time anyone else heard Al spontaneously played on broadcast radio [not Dr. D. or a specialty satellite station]?

Cheers, Diva

Well, this is a TV story, but I heard "Eat It" spontaneously on Good Morning America sometime last year, as background music for a story about food. Diane Sawyer looked at Robin Roberts and went, "Oh, and of course it's always a good morning when you wake up to 'Weird Al'!" Loved that moment!

I remember something like that too, but it wasn't last year, it was a few years ago

I heard "Ricky" played on the local radio station around here a few months ago. They were playing songs that were released in the early 80s. It was pretty nice that they played it. :D

Okay, 51%. Just barely enough to own the company.
