Al's Brain

Thought I should start up a new topic in recognition of the revelation of the title of Al's latest "top-secret project." Mods, if I'm out of line in doing so then you know what to do.

To begin, hooray! We have a title, a concept, a (rough) date, and a location! Sure, it looks like a (shudder) educational affair, but at least this time it's DELIBERATELY educational, as opposed to The Weird Al Show, which had to shoehorn education like a brick into a bowling shoe. I have every confidence that Al, as a writer/director/star, will deliver an entertaining, GENUINELY educational, and thoroughly mind-blowing little film.

But Fred Huggins, what does that sign mean by "The OC Super Fair"?

Good question. I don't know. I Googled the phrase, and all that came up was the Yank Blog. It might just be another name for the regular OC Fair, which runs for about three weeks and change every July/August in Costa Mesa, CA. But why go to the expense of producing a 3-D film AND building a theater to show it in, only to show it for less than a month? Maybe they'll use an existing building...or MAYBE, just maybe, this "OC Super Fair" is going to be something more permanent.

Keep in mind, the sign only says "PREMIERING at the OC Super Fair." The thing about 3-D attractions is, they're the easiest thing to move around from one park to another. That SpongeBob 3-D film was made for Paramount parks, but it's since opened in several Six Flags parks, as well as assorted parks, zoos and aquariums nationwide. And the replacement for "Haunted Lighthouse" (at a few locations anyway) is a film called "Pirates 3-D" starring Leslie Nielsen and Eric Idle - a film produced for a British theme park, and imported here after pirates became HUGE again.

I'd like to hope that after "Al's Brain" premieres at the OC Fair next year, it'll open at several theme parks and science museums around the country. Not to play devil's advocate, but that concept would fit like a freaking glove if it were to replace "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" at EPCOT in Disney World - it would be right next to "Journey Into Imagination," another edu-tainment attraction about the human mind. And how fitting would it be for a theater that once played "Captain EO" (starring Michael Jackson) to play "Al's Brain"?

And if for whatever reason it ONLY plays for those three weeks and change at the OC Fair '09, hey...that just increases the chances that it'll be released as an extra on the next Video Collection!

Whatever the case, I'll be in Costa Mesa OPENING DAY July 2009!

<_< While attractions having to do with the brain aren't my favorite type of entertainment (most of you know why), it's still cool to hear what the "mystery 3D project" is.

This topic title isn't meant to be lowercase, by the way. Can we fix that?

It's from the forum's filter so we don't get titles like "THIS." The same thing happens with the UHF topic.

Well could we at least change it from "al's Brain" to "Al's Brain"?

A mod would have to do that.
