The Presidents Of The United States Of America video that Darryl hinted at in his most recent MySpace blog has been revealed. Darryl will direct the video for "Mixed Up S.O.B.". The video should be out soon, but you can check out the song now on The Presidents Of The United States Of America's MySpace page.

With the success of "White and Nerdy" on YouTube and iTunes, it really surprises me that Al hasn't gotten more requests to direct videos for different artists. Especially since a lot of main stream artists like to put comedy into their videos, you'd think they'd be lining up to have Al direct them. But then again, has Al really put himself out there to let others know that he's willing to direct for other artists? Or does he intentionally only do it for his friends?

At one time Al had an agent (not Jay) specifically to find him directing jobs. Don't know if he's still working with her or not. I gather she had to make at least one video pitch anonymously. The band only discovered they'd picked Weird Al after the fact.

The concept for the video is explained at the end of the Presidents' video blog:

If I remember right, Al said that Cake asked him to direct a video during the SOL tour but he was too busy.
I can't wait for this video, Presidents of the USA are awesome!

This will be a nice change. I can't wait to see what this video will look like. This will be interesting. It's been a few years since Al's directed another groups video.
