World of Weird Al Yankovic

A friend on another mailgroup was at the Detroit concert and ran into Elise's daughter Melanie, who was wearing Elise's Al-team shirt in her honor. Elise was a regular on alt.music.weird-al from 1999 onward and was a volunteer at ALCON 2000. She said she named her daughter both after the 60s singer Melanie and after Al's song. I remember in about 2000 she got an English Bulldog and named him Bulldog Al. I remember her fondly, and I don't think she ever had an unkind word toward anyone.

I saw Melanie there, too, Diva. I'm sorry that I don't remember her mother. I didn't have the heart to ask her name after Melanie told me she had passed. So sorry to hear of another Al fan passing away. Melanie said both she and her brother had Al Team shirts, thanks to their mother.

Yes, I remember her too although I never met her IRL! Did she say what happened? I know she wasn't that old.
