I have no idea why my friend even decided to tell me what he did but when I told him that I was going to see Al in Ottawa he replied:

"You know Weird Al is dead right? They replaced him with a look alike/sound alike"

WTF? I know that this is a lie but what made him go ahead and say that?!

There have been a lot of people who have claimed that Al is dead. Unfortunately it's a pretty common thing that happens.

Some people find that sort of thing funny, I guess. Although, it's really not.

Sounds like somebody got King of the Hill confused with a news report.

They had to put an item about Al on the Dead People's Server(under their Quash Those Rumors section) because of that show.

Also, some people can't believe that somebody who was jumping around onstage like a maniac in 1981 could still be jumping around onstage like a maniac in 2007 (I ran into a lady at the OC Fair in 2004 who thought that she was going to see some later-version successor to the mantle of Weird Al, and was quite surprised when I told her that he was the original article.

Lastly, some people just make stuff up because they like upsetting people who are fond of a star. ;(
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

Your friend probably read the RAQ on All Thinks Yankovic.

Haha, I can't tell you how many people have told me this. Probably got it from the King of the Hill episode ... I just laugh. :P

They're apparently confusing him with Paul McCartney. In fact, they used the same technology to make Dhani Harrison.
