I've never had the opportunity to listen to them after a break-up, but I have compilation "tape" of Al's "dysfunctional" love songs. It's my primary in-car listening choice (Running With Scissors being secondary). Of course, it always improves my boring miserable life.

A coworker of mine said that One More Minute almost sounds like "...a song you might hear on the radio..."

I have not listened to it after a breakup but I have to say it is very good "therapy" song for listening after leaving a job that was very close to an abusive relationship (loved the job and the money but despised the bosses).

I always just found the songs to be extremely funny. That Al certainly knows how to emphasize the "fun" in "dysfunctional"

Well, My girlfriend just broke up and One More Minute surely helped me come over it. It's really the truth. After playing that song for 30 times, I trow away all the pictures (Torn in 2  )

No, I didn't burn down the mallshop

I use Al to cheer me up no matter what. If I'm feeling down, Al goes into that cd player and it plays!

For a break-up? Nope. I've never had a boyfriend so no break-up.

I listened to Since You've Been Gone for the first time around the time I broke up with a guy I barely got along with but that song made me laugh a lot and it definietly helped me forget him. That last line describes my feelings toward my ex perfectly.

There is parody of "Melanie"

called "Yankovic" that has been played on Dr D's show, but if you have any other song ideas, why not submit them to Dr. D? who knows, we might hear your song one night!
