Do you think that Weird Al's band members should appear on more album covers?
As far as I know, the only covers featuring the band are the One More Minute single (where Al blocks Jim West's face), and Running with Scissors, where some band members can barely be seen (Weird Al confirmed this in an Ask Al, though he didn't say which band members it was). I didn't recognize any band members on the cover of Polka Party, and I'm pretty sure that none of them apear on the cover of Poodle Hat (I think I've seen an official list somewhere that says who everybody on the cover is, and I don't recall any band members being mentioned).

I think the reason he hasn't done so is that he is "advertised" as a solo artist. His band is not really the artist, just the support musicians. At least that is how he is catagorized in the industry. Groups like Green Day, Black Eyed Peas, etc will have their whole band on the cover because that is the artist on the label.

Yeah one day I was wearing my Al and the band T-Shirt and my teacher asked me which band that was. I said that's WEIRD AL of course!

A lot of people seem surprised when I tell them that Al actually has a band. They think he sings over karaoke tracks.

Interesting question. Like Kristine said, Al is billed as a solo artist...and plus, it'd be a lot more difficult to incorporate a joke on the cover with 4-5 people instead of just one.

Poodle Hat.
He could've at least had them as cameos on there.

Well, at least the band usually gets to appear in at least one photo in the booklet (I wonder why there weren't any pictures of the band in Alapalooza). Heck, they got to be on the back cover of Off the Deep End.

Then they get more surprised that it's been the same band since the beginning.

that's a good questions. I don't know them very well, but the times i've met them they seemed really down to earth, and probably don't care if they are on the cover or not. don't read this the wrong way, Al is also very down to earth, but he is the main advertised artist.

I think the band should be featured on more covers. Al could probably have some very good jokes with the whole band. Plus, he's a well-established solo artist. Most people know that by now. Plus, his name's on the cover. That makes it pretty clear he's a solo artist.
