Um...did you watch the clip? Because he was actually very complimentary of Al. He commented briefly about how Al was "fearless" in his work. He referenced some of the challenges he had early on and specifically about how Paul McCartney nixxed "Chicken Pot Pie" because of being a vegetarian. Then, he mentioned that after 25 years his new album just made it into the top 10. (Yeah, he's a little bit behind, but whatever).

It was actually a very cool little blurb. In the background, he showed a rotating display of Al's album covers. For those trying to catch the show, it's the episode with William Shatner, and the Al bit appears at around the 45 minute mark.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try to catch this. Does anyone know when it airs again?

According to tvguide.com, there are no airings of the show scheduled for the next 14 days. That's probably wrong though.

BUt at the end he mentioned how if "this guy" could do it, anyone could basically. He was not complimentary IMHO. Even when he mention Kurt Cobain saying how he only felt he made it after Al did a song, Mancow was like unbelievable that Al could make a person feel that way. He just doesn't "get" Al

I really think you took it the wrong way. I don't think he was trying to be disrespectful towards Al. Quite the contrary, I think he was paying tribute to him.
