Here's a heads-up for my fellow NE Ohio Al fans:
According to the Q104 web site, Al will be in the studio Tuesday morning on their "Wilde & Fee in the Morning" show. I e-mailed the show's producer for more information, and he told me that Al will show up around 8:45 or so.
I'm sorry to say, but as far as I can tell, the station doesn't stream anywhere online.

Thanks for the heads up, Greg! I'll have to listen to that. Al's going to be in Cleveland?! He should stop by and say hello.

Hey, it used to work for people running for public office.
(knock, knock)
"Um, yes?"
"Hi, I'm 'Weird Al' Yankovic!"
"Uh, hello."
"Did you know I have a new album out?"
"Oh...oh really?"
"Yeah, and I'm in town today looking for potential listeners. I don't know if you're aware of it, but this is an important year in which we can really turn the music industry around. I'm counting on you to pick up a copy!"
"Uh, sure. Of course. You have my full support, I guess."
"Thanks! Here's a button!"
Okay, I admit it. I want a button.

Thanks so much for the info, Greg!
I'll be able to listen for about 20 minutes and then my first group of 29 students will come to me and I'm sure I won't be able to hear anything after that---but, 20 minutes is better than nothing!

Well, that was odd.
I personally can't wait to hear Al's new Spanish album...oh wait, that was Gloria Estefan. They took a five-minute break from chatting with Al to put Gloria on the phone. At least Gloria made a joke that she would download SOL legally.
Most of the rest of the interview consisted of the usual stuff: The "Can we call you 'Weird?'" question (why is that question coming up more and more?), the "doing research my entire life" answer for W&N, the Prince discussion, and the "hope I don't pass out" line about the "Tonight Show" appearance...and of course Al had to hear the show's wacky parody guy's Al-themed parody of "You Can Call Me Al" (oh dear god, the song claimed Al sang "9 Coronas"...way to go there, "superfan").
There were a couple of fresh questions about the creative process and his marriage, but really nothing too earth-shattering.
But, at least they played DICYO?, W&N, "Polkarama!", and even "I'll Sue Ya" in their entireties, so that's something. Maybe it was just my radio, but there were some really odd feedback problems during the songs. One fan called in and said they had "Poodle Hat" in their CD player at work, so he was told if he could prove it over the phone he could come to the studio to meet Al in person (I am about 90% sure I used to work with the fan in question). So we also got to hear a morsel of "Couch Potato" too (probably for the first time on Cleveland radio!) and (later) a little bit of "I Can't Watch This."
Nevertheless, it was a fun chat. No jerks this time out.

Well, good. I don't want to hear any earth-shattering questions (or answers) about his marriage.
You forgot to tell us whether these particular radio personalities are on a first-adjective basis with Al or not.

Oh come on now, I think we all know the answer to that going in.
